Purposes
The Konheim Travel Fund Grant was established to assist chapters to send members to the AAUP Biennial Conference. Grants may be given to chapters engaged in activities advancing AAUP’s objectives in academic freedom, student rights and freedoms, the status of academic women, the elimination of discrimination against minorities, or the establishment of equal opportunity for members of college or university faculty. The Grant is awarded to such chapters that lack sufficient funds or are at distant locations. Preference is given to chapters that have been unable to send members in recent years.
Guidelines
Grant Awards may not exceed $1,000 per recipient.
Applications need to follow the AAUP Foundation Grant Guidelines and should contain a description of chapter activities undertaken in the preceding 12-month period relating to the purposes set forth herein. Information about chapter size, chapter finances, and meeting attendance (at previous AAUP Annual and Biennial Conferences) should also be included. Click here for the Konheim Grant Request Form.
Recipient chapters are approved by the AAUP Foundation Board.
Recipients are recognized at the Biennial Conference by the AAUP Foundation Chair.
